Very heavy T-Storms have been moving through our area throughout the evening and well into the night. We have moved indoors. In preparation we turned off the electric lights and lit some of the gas lamps. We got a big fire going in the fireplace. Power went off right after dinner, so we've made up a bed by he fire. While visiting family, we found the first tent we bought together and now it's ours again. Its not as fancy or lightweight as the new tent, but it's insulated and warmer and we're glad of that tonight as it's cold. The soft lights give it a warm glow inside and out. And now it's bedtime for the prince and princess. I'm sure we'll think of a way to stay warm!

We're on the way home from a family event. We've stopped at a hotel for the night. The hotel is owned by friends of Jack's who owe him for saving their lives. Because of that they won't take any money for the very expensive room. The bed is extremely comfortable and we put it to good use.

The park rangers took us all to a ridge where we could see for miles around. On the way down though one of the jeeps was running poorly. We'd never make it by dark at that speed. Finally Jack suggested leaving us at an old line cabin and then the rangers could take the running jeep down for help. The line cabin is now a pile of lumber so we make tents out of tarps and use the lumber for firewood. It's COLD at that altitude at night but we know how to stay warm in our makeshift tent.
