Horror of Horrors! The grill has gone out. Luckily there is a fireplace and a couple cook stoves so though it's rough going breakfast gets served. After Amy and I head down the mountain to pick up parts for the grill. A blizzard hits and we end up at a small in that while closed for the season, opens it's doors to stranded travelers. The couple that own it serve a wonderful thanksgiving like dinner in the expanded lobby Served family style of course. Then we all watch Heartland before heading back to our cabins. The wind is howling and the temperature is plummeting, but the owners have put an insulated curtain across part of the living room and moved the bed out by the fire. The gas heater keeps the cabin at 60 but the fire in where we are has it toasty warm. What we thought was going to be a dull evening stranding in a cabin turned into a lot of fun. Then it was bed time, of course, no pjs, but with the fire we don't need them. They never seem to stay on anyway.

So good to have my princess back. Some excitement at the lodge after we learn an escaped convict was hiding out in the woods near by. But tonight, the camera Jack had installed in a tree allowed us to watch the baby eaglets hatch. The camera also got the attention of the convict who knew nothing of the eagles and thought the cameral was pointed at the woods. So he snuck in under cover of darkness to try to cut the cable from the camera. He made the mistake of cutting across the roof and fell through a skylight. After that we made some popcorn, got comfortable in our fort and watched an episode of heartland. After that it was lights out. Didn't take long for us to get out of our PJs and into each other.

After a day of training and learning about the Lodge's new high tech luggage transport system, we head to our cabin for some cuddling, popcorn and Heartland. Afterwards we decide to check out the new steam room. It got pretty steamy when we turned on the steam maker but then we steamed it up even more.

5 Million stars and a rating of 10 Billion would be closer. Jack was under the weather today so Amy and I set out on a specially equipped snowmobile to check for potential avalanches. We cleared them all but the last one partially buried our snowmobile despite Amy's fast, slightly wild driving. She went slight against standard procedure of heading slightly down the mountain for speed but mostly to the side to get out of the path, but in so doing, we ended up stuck just yards from a line cabin left from the days when there had been a ski resort there. Kelly had it fully stocked planning on it being available for the avalanche teams. We fixed a nice dinner followed by popcorn and hot cocoa by the fireplace. We pulled the mattress of the bed and put it by the fire then surrounded it on 3 sides with sheets we managed to hang around it. That kept us plenty warm for playtime in our makeshift bed. Amy was incredible as she ALWAYS is.

To night we have a flash back to a camp the summer after we were married. Two years before Jack & Kelly even dreamed of making they're plans for a lodge a reality. Much smaller than the camp is now, with old army tents. We find ourselves in out tent making love. It's our first time at camp and so exciting.

An amazing time with my amazing princess. Due to an approaching blizzard the stable delivered the new horses early. The forgot to call first and there is nobody to care for them until Monday when the new Ranch hand will arrive. Amy and I volunteer but the storm hits while we're working and now it's dark and blowing so hard we can't see the lodge. Luckily Kelly sent a basket of food with us because we're spending the night in the loft. We no more than get settled in and the power goes out. So we'll have to make do with the fire light.

So good to spend time with my Princess again. It's been too long. The new lodge has a small scale train that provides a tour of the lodge and surrounding mountains. We've chosen to pull off on a small siding overlooking a valley. There is a shelter there where we could get in out of the cold and build a fire. We could see eagles soaring high above the valley floor. I guess that's why it's called Eagle Ridge. After watching the eagles for a while we decide it's warmed up for a little playtime of our own.

Today we arrive at the new lodge in the smoky mountains. And after 2 months of Jack & Kelly trying to come up with a name, Amy came up with one within 5 minutes. She spotted an Eagle's Nest in one of the really tall trees and we all realized she'd found the perfect name. We got in just in time because shortly after a blizzard hit and our plane would have been grounded. After Dinner Jack & Kelly showed a couple episodes of Heartland to the new staff gathered in the living room. Then it was off to bed. It was a cold and windy night so w put together our fort by the fireplace. Once inside we spent the night enjoying each other and making love.

Jack and Kelly arrive and we have fun visiting with them Amy makes her campfire lasagna and after dinner we watch Heartland by the fireplace and eat popcorn. Then Jack and Kelly retire to the tent, they said they'd prefer it so we sleep in our bed. Well we're in our bed anyway. We're far from asleep.

Another amazing night with my beautify princess. We set up out tent/room so that it would be ready when Jack & Kelly arrive tomorrow. Then we started packing for our trip finishing just in time to cuddle by the fire and watch Heartland. After that we decide we'd test the makeshift bed in the tent. We decided if we used cushions and blankets there'd be room for a table and some chairs. Needless to say the bed proved to be quite comfortable and Amy and I had fun testing it.

A little mystery tonight. I'd gone to pick up the dry cleaning and called Amy to say my car broke down and needed a ride home. I gave her an address but didn't tell her the name of the place I was at. I'd arranged for her to enter from a road behind the building and the only sign was Employees Only. I'd left her best dress in the employee locker room where she was asked to change. She was then taken to a table with a single red rose. Then I walk in and surprise her. We hadn't had a date in ages and she'd wanted to go to this expensive restaurant since it opened but we couldn't afford it. But turned out Jack was close friend's with the owner and got us a special deal. Amy was mad at first but then appreciated the effort I'd gone to for her and more than rewarded me for it.

Today was filled with laundry after our trip, cleaning up, and a visit from our parents. Turns out they're both going to the same conference out of town and tonight was the only night they could come before we leave for the new lodge. What to do for room. We cook up a cleaver plan to make an extra room using our big tent. After dinner we watch the Hearlland Christmas and then Amy surprises me, she found our long lost DVD of our wedding and 1st Christmas. After that it's playtime by the fire.

Back home in our tiny cottage. As we're unpacking we find a box from Jack and Kelly, they gave us a couple blankets like the ones at the lodge and matching pillow cases, embroidered with "Prince & Princess." As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. It's been a few days, but now the adventure continues. New Years is over with but instead of catching our flight, we're turning in our tickets because one of the rangers has to fly to our hometown to pick up supplies, so we'll be flying with him, and getting an extra day at the Lodge in the process. We have been given the key to what will be our new room when we start our jobs at the lodge in the spring. To our surprise, they're giving us the room we stayed in when we first arrived due to the cabins not being ready. We can't resist lighting a fire in the fireplace and setting up our fort. Kelly left us a new pair of PJs which we just have to try on which leads to all kinds of fun by the fire.

It's been a long week, Christmas back in Feb? Since then we've been trapped in a fire tower, trapped in an igloo by wolves, been in an emergency landing in a chopper and spent the night in a cave where a cougar tried to have us for dinner, been on a cross country excursion by steam locomotive, but finally we're at the New Year's Eve party. Amy and I sneak away about 1am for our own party back in our cabin. Hard to believe in a couple days we'll be going home. But just for a few days then it's off to the smokies with Jack and Kelly for training with the new staff.

Another amazing night with the amazing Amy. I arranged a surprise for us, a trip by horse drawn sleigh back to the ridge where we watched the sunset once before. I even had the driver take a different route so as not to tip her off. I'd had the fire lit in the rustic shelter and some hotdogs and popcorn left in a cooler just outside the door. It was plenty warm inside and we immediate removed our winter clothing. we laid out cushions and blankets from a small cabinet and cuddle by the fire. we roasted and ate our hotdogs just before sunset then made popcorn to eat while we cuddled and watched the sunset. After sunset we had even more fun. But I'm not one to kiss and tell. You just had to be there.

Everyone was having such an incredible time camping in the yard around the lodge they decided to extend it another day in spite of slightly colder temperatures and light snow forecast. We decide on the BBQ chicken for lunch so while it's cooking we have time to kill. We decide to get into our tarp tent and get out of the cold. Again our design has kept it quite warm inside. While we can't get fully naked, we can undress some. There are people around so we have to settle for touching, but touching too is very good, very important, really. So we give each other much pleasure that way.
