We built our little tent/fort by the fireplace in the temporary housing. It was extremely cold out and the fort kept us a little warmer. Of course, we have our own way of keeping warm.

Our first night in the old fire tower. It's beyond bitter cold outside, but we have no trouble keeping each other warm inside. We've put the mattress on floor next to an old pot belly stove and out love making generates more than enough heat to keep us warm.

We're spending a couple days in the old fire tower. We're high in the mountains, there are no roads, we had to fly in by chopper. It's cold out but we're cuddled next to the wood stove. We have no trouble finding ways to stay warm

We're still snowed in. Howling winds, record low temps. But that's no problem for us. A generator keeps the essentials going, fridge, water, etc. Fireplace keeps us warm. Cuddling and playtime by the fire keeps us even warmer.

It's Saturday night at the grand reopening of the Inn. They've called in all their chefs and a number of guest chefs to prepare a celebration dinner. The original plan for it to be served buffet style was scraped do the huge number of people. Instead, an army of servers served us as the dishes were prepared in front of us. Sometime after midnight, we need down the hot spring pool, and take cover behind a willow tree, overhanging the pool. There the suits come off and the fun begins.

Checking out the new mini-cabins at the wildlife observation area we're happy to see the windows have privacy glass so that the wildlife isn't disturbed by our presence. It has the added benefit of keeping other visitors from seeing us. Seems that there's some wildlife in the cabin too. My Princess is the greatest!

We spent the day at the festival grounds which was set up as a turn of the century logging camp. After watching the demonstrations, we took a stagecoach into the village for lunch, shopping and sightseeing. After that it was a sleigh ride back to the festival grounds where we cuddled for a while until it was time to couple our car back onto the train. Back on board we enjoyed some hot cocoa as we watched the sunset on our journey back to the inn. After dark, we retired to our bed for some playtime.

We take a little tour from the Inn. They have teamed up with the nearby village and a railroad preservation society to restore and operate a turn of the century railroad. The track, formerly belonging to a mining company was used to haul ore from the mine to the mining town. With the mine gone, the town is now a small village and the track was in bad repair. Now restored, it makes the 15 minute run into town several times a day. For a small fee, we are able to get a private car, which turns out to be an executive car. Because of new fallen snow, Deer and other wildlife are running between the rails where the train has cleared the snow. The engineer has slowed us way down so that the trip takes nearly an hour. But we don't care, we're playing in the featherbed of our private car. The longer the trip the better we like it.

I surprise my princess with a weekend at an inn that we visited on our first valentine's. We've been saying we would go back but never did. It's been restored and reopened now. We have a wonderful time in the newly restored cabin and make good use of the brand new featherbed.
