The thunderstorm to end all thunderstorms has hit, and hit hard. Fortunately the cabin and barn have lightning rods because major bolts have been hitting hard. The mountain tops have taken direct hits. We're cuddled up in our comfortable, log frame bed on a feather mattress, playing and enjoying each other.

Our second day at the cabin. We saddle up the horses for a ride along the lake, a picnic lunch and some fishing. Its getting dark early so we have to rush home. It's nearly dark when we reach the barn. It's dark by the time we get the fish cleaned but fortunately, we've lit a fire outside. Inside we put the fish in to soak then fry them for dinner. There are bad storms on the way, but they won't be there until late morning. We'll be on the road long before that. We settle into bed for some cuddling and playtime.

Since our adventures are out of sync with the calendar and it's still summer, we celebrate my birthday by remembering the trip to an isolated cabin by a lake in the Canadian Rockies. We have plenty of alone time to celebrate properly. Can't think of a better way to end my day than with my Princess.

We've arrived at the Camp with Jack and Kelly to get things ready for the first camp retreat of the year. There is plenty of cleanup to do. We've set up our tent down by the river, away from the main camping area so as to be out of the way, and to have a little extra privacy for a few days. Its a beautiful night so we sleep by the fire. Jack and Kelly are far enough away that we have enough privacy. We crawl under the blankets to play under a star filled sky.

I special fund raiser for the park's wildlife fund. Free canoe rentals (with donation) so we canoe up to an old log jam where we stop for a picnic lunch. Then back to camp and a fundraiser dinner. Steak dinner for $10. Jack & Kelly are there cooking and after they pitch their tent at our campsite, not far from ours. Its time to crawl into our tent and out of our clothes for playtime.
