Sexting is a powerful tool; sexting pictures an even more powerful one. The former is the beginning to almost any relationship nowadays; the latter, well…too often, a small mistake can bring a long relationship down, like a spear into a wooly mammoth. And since we already showed you some of the best and worst sexting selfies, we thought we’d offer this guide to ensure a successful sexting (…cum–get your mind out of the gutter and think ivy league here–pictures) session!
DO!
Think about lighting. No one wants to see your tits or dick lurking in the dark like Michael Myers preparing to attack. Unless that’s the type of thing your partner is into.
DON’T!
Escalate too quickly. A texting session should be at least thirty minutes. It’s about teasing and building anticipation! Don’t send a sly nipple peeking out of your shirt, and follow-up three minutes later with an up close anal shot.
DO!
Send texts in between. Though all people will get off to some degree to pics, the text is the message in between. A little message like “thinking of you” or “I know you want this” along with a stupid emoji and a pic of a hand down the pants is SO MUCH MORE arousing. It also shows you’re engaged, and not just taking quick pics in between watching Real Housewives of Tuscaloosa.
DON’T! (For Women)
Don’t save pics of a previous session with a different person because you “looked really hot that night,” and then send them to a new suitor. It’s really creepy if you get found out and, more importantly, shows you’re not really engaged in the process.
DO!
Consider angles for WHATEVER you’re photographing. Unless you’re a fitness model, there are unflattering angles where you’ll look like shit. For men, this can be the difference between looking like a hung stud or a stick of gum. For ladies, it can be the difference between flat chest and best of the breast!
DON’T! (For Men)
Unless every woman in the world is lying, a lot of men out there get stupid and send dick pics way WAY too soon. This is the same rule as previous; BE ENGAGED! If you’re doing it on your own, uninvited, then you’re only playing for yourself and not considering the other person. Basic rule of thumb; until you are sent a photo of an uncovered vagina, DO NOT send a dick pic.
DO!
Consider safety. If you don’t know the person well, or don’t trust them, hide your face. Sorry if you’re unaware, but AT LEAST one of the person’s friends will be seeing these pics. Try to minimize the damage in case you ended up picking a vindictive sociopath to partner with.
DON’T!
Use Snapchat. These pics are supposed to be enticing, how much detail are you REALLY gonna catch in fifteen seconds? What are you, twelve?
